Puts a colonist's job/title in the Colonist Bar below their label (name/nickname). Also now puts a label for what job the colonist is currently performing when you hover your mouse over them.

NOTE: To users of Colony Groups with Job In Bar, who also use RimPy as your mod manager. The sorting rule in RimPy is incorrect. Job In Bar must be loaded before Colony Groups. Apparently there is some issue on RimPy's end that makes it impossible to modify that rule for now, so please if you use both mods and have issues with everything breaking, try loading Job In Bar first before saying that the mod is broken.

A colonist's job is either their backstory (childhood/adulthood) or a custom player Title. You can give a pawn any title you want to using the rename dialog from the Bio menu. Alternately, the pawn's backstory will be put there instead.

Please note that this mod does NOT show the current job that the pawn is performing. This mod only shows a pawn's job title from their story. NEW UPDATE: This mod now does have a new feature that displays a pawn's current job/task when you hover your mouse over them in the colonist bar. Please feel free to drop feedback on this new feature if anything doesn't seem right
I made this mod because I needed to organize my colonists and I missed Pawn Badge, which never updated to 1.1 (There have been fan-forks since then, but not when I made this mod). Vanilla RimWorld already has a system for entering custom job titles for colonists, and I always wondered why it didn't show in the colonist bar to help organize and specialize.

Compatibility
Should be 100% compatible with any mod except mods that replace the colonist bar (Colony groups, for example Colony Groups has received a compatibility patch, but the example is still valid). Mods that modify the vanilla colonist bar should be 100% compatible (Show Draftees Weapon, for example)

Mods with patches for Job In Bar

Mods that work well with Job In Bar
  • Show Draftees Weapon - Job In Bar Includes a setting to hide the job label when the colonist is drafted, specifically to make it work well with this mod
  • CM Color Coded Mood Bar - A must-have mod in my personal opinion. Plays very nicely with Job in Bar. Aims for the same goal of providing more information about your colonists at a glance.

Known Issues
The label's position does not properly update as the pawns listed in the bar become smaller (As a result of having many pawns in your colony at once). This can be fixed manually by adjusting the vertical offset setting, but it will behave strangely otherwise. Still works fine, just looks a little off. If anyone more experienced than me in RimWorld modding has a suggestion for how best to avoid this problem, please reach out.

There is a folder in the .zip archive. To install the mod, move the entire folder (not just its contents) into 'Mods' folder located under your RimWorld root isntallation folder.
So, for steam version of the game, the path would look like this: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\RimWorld\Mods
For any other distribution, firstly locate your rimworld installation path and then unpack the archive into the 'Mods' folder.
Then enable the mod in the game mods menu by double clicking on its name and restart the game
