Aethon 3 may seem like a moderate step in terms of technical specification, but the thorough refinement of all facets of the aircraft is what makes this jet really soar.

Full checklists are pre-loaded in the aircraft, with understandable acronyms. Remember that there is a scroll bar on the checklist screen!

Rigorous flight tests were conducted with other stormworks aircraft builders and generally experienced players in order to hone in button layouts, system complexity, pilot workload, checklist names, and other even smaller items in order to offer (dare I say) the best piloting experience, coupled with the best passenger experience in stormworks.

Avionics have also been completely reworked, to offer a complete autopilot suite, landing assist, and modern lua displays.

For Pilots:

The entire cockpit has been modeled on the principle of balance. Ease of use coupled with advanced features is the primary juxtaposition, as well as the balance between complex autopilot, but still fun to fly manually. The color scheme has also been balanced. There is a distinct grayscale in the cockpit, with white highlights on screens and backlights, and green highlights on buttons. This provides a clean look while also carrying a useful idea of green buttons being good, white being optional or selector, and red being emergency or warning.

Thanks to redesigned screen switching systems, the copilot has the ability to be much more useful. The secondary copilot screen can now display the original ECAM screen, as well as the checklists, map, and new nav screen. The copilot also has their own waypoint keyboard. All of the copilot optimizations now allow for easy control of checklists, navigation, and systems monitoring.

Navigation, autopilot and other pilot assistance features have also been updated and expanded. Dual waypoint autopilot has been added (finally) thanks to Hally's Advanced HSI system, heading hold has been reprogramed to allow for rollover through 0 degrees, and auto brakes has been integrated into the flight control/autopilot computer to become landing assist.

Landing assist is a breakthrough new feature which allows for smooth landings on adverse internet connections and laggy servers, as well as a huge reduce in pilot workload, and increased ability to land in low visibility and super windy conditions. Landing assist controls throttle, brakes, and roll during descent in order to allow the pilot to focus on glideslope and centerline. Once at the runway, the system evaluates height above ANY runway without any setup, and automatically pulls the throttle back slowly, flares, and applies brakes. Once landed and going slow, the system automatically turns itself off. Land in wind, in rain, in fog, in lag, in multiplayer, in the darkness of night with minimal effort. Just not all at the same time (but contact me if you do!).

For Passengers:

Enjoy the same great interior as the Aethon 2, but with a slightly updated color scheme and furniture, as well as the divider between VIP and lounge removed to offer a more open feel to the main living space of the interior. Remember to stay entertained with the entertainment screen courtesy of Mr.Eyeball
