Originally designed for military service the potential for heavy duty industrial and civilan applications was soon realised. The DT161 was procured by SRS as a replacement for the aging NLL800 fleet. Just as the vehicle it replaces the DT161 offers amphibious capability and enviormental protection thanks to it's military heritage.

For amphibious operations hotkey 6 needs to pressed in the drivers seat. All hatches and the rear door should remaing closed during amphibious operations unless neccecary. The top hatches can be opened without immediately inducing flooding in calm waters. The time when these are open should be kept to a minimum.
