Indicates the tiers of various techs with a bright colored border. In Stellaris, technologies have "tiers", and to be able to obtain technologies of a higher tier, you must research a certain number of lower tier techs. This mod helps visualize that, and is especially useful for tech "beelining", where you would aim to get a certain tech as early as possible.
The mod uses 5 colors for the 5 tech tiers: red, yellow, green, blue, purple (that order for tiers 1-5). Since this is a purely visual mod, it does not change checksum.
