TWO-STAGE FIX

What does that mean? Well, basically, the ship is currently half-fixed. She can be fired up and driven around once again, but the sink switch is still broken.

The reason for this, is that while steam engines are workable once again, sink switches built in the conventional manner with hidden hatches, are not. Water flow is extremely slow due to the recent pressure and flow changes, even if the flooding compartment is a near perfect vacuum. You can see this easily when you look into Celtic's sink switch and see the jankiest, ugliest, and messiest system for something that's supposed to fairly simple.

What all this means is that while I'll be fixing the ship's boilers now, I'm going to wait until pressure and flow are updated to function much better to fix the sink switches.

(Fictional)
Built in the late 1840's, the SS Newcastle was one of the first ocean liners operating across the Atlantic. She was fitted with the revolutionary new screw propeller which proved to be superior to paddle wheels, but still retained the old-school wooden hull. She was also one of the fastest ships of the day, operating at a top speed of 13 knots. Her design, with comfortable saloon class accommodations and... habitable steerage quarters, would help pave the way for the design of future ocean liners to come.

SPECIFICATIONS

Top speed: 13 Knots
Length: 60.25 Meters
Width: 9.75 Meters
Height: 27 Meters
(Actual size in the workbench is small enough to fit in the default dock)

HOW TO START

1: Go to the boiler room.
2: Turn the dampers all the way up.
3: Light boilers.
4: Once steam pressure is up, you should be good to go.

SINK SWITCHES

The sink switches are located in the Captains' cabin at the starboard (right) side of the main saloon lounge, as a keypad next to the desk.
1: A large hole opens up in the keel.
2: Same thing, controlled by the weather.
The ship is built so that it has a sort of free surface-like effect, and having certain doors open can affect how it goes down.
No explosives are used, so the Search and Destroy DLC is not needed.

EXTRA NOTES

-The boilers are set up so that you can operate them with any number of furnaces. So you can have 3, 2, or even 1 firebox lit, and they will each result in different power outputs.
-The ship may easily list to the side if there's uneven weight. The ship is very stable, it just doesn't like sitting on an even keel very much.
-Sammy doesn't like light
-When using the bilge pumps for the first time, you need to manually crank them forward a bit as they spawn in at the end of their stroke. (You can also just use the pumps as manual hand crank pumps if there's no steam)

Inspired by the early screw steamers such as the SS Great Britain, the RMS Cambria (1844), and the SS City Of Glasgow
