Vanilla Storytellers Expanded is a brand new mod series featuring standalone storytellers, bringing new, unique mechanics to the game.

"Diego Industrial creates a story of increasing curve of challenge and tension. He will make sure you have a breathing room between hard, difficult events. Most factions and all research will be limited to the industrial and pre-industrial eras."

Diego Industrial comes with the following traits:

Technology limited to Industrial
Upon world generation, this storyteller will prevent factions past industrial from spawning.

Scales with Wealth
This storyteller scales with a colony wealth being a deciding factor - the higher the wealth, the more difficult raids and bad events will happen.

Balanced Difficulty
This storyteller has balanced difficulty. It will not favour good nor bad events, and any events that happen are tailored to your colony based on it’s wealth, past events, amount of colonists and other factors.

Q: How do I use this storyteller?
A: In order to benefit from the world locked to industrial era, start a new save with this storyteller. Do not change the storyteller to any other one, as it will re-enable post-industrial factions.

Q: Can I change to this storyteller mid-save?
A: Absolutely, however it won't apply the Industrial era effect - this is only applied on creating a new save. It will however stop you from researching spacer era technologies.

Q: Does it work with Combat Extended?
A: It’s a storyteller. It should do.

Q: Will you keep updating the mod with new content?
A: This is a singular storyteller mod. Development work on it has been finished.

Q: Is it compatible with X mod?
A: It is compatible with majority, if not all, mods. One big incompatibility is Faction Control. Don’t use this mod and faction control together.

Q: Can I play this mod alongside Vanilla Factions Expanded - Settlers? How is this storyteller different?
A: Yes. This storyteller locks technology to industrial - meaning it’s much harder to research spacer tech technologies.

Q: How do I research techs past locked tech level?
A: You need to research every available technology first. Then, when you obtain techproof subpersona core, you can use it to research a new, random, more modern tech.

Q: Empire faction spawned anyway! How come?
A: The DLC faction is hardcoded to spawn. Disable the DLC if you don’t want it.

Is this mod safe to use?

The mods are repacked as is, without any additional software, malware, or bloatware added. To check for viruses, use a reliable antivirus or upload the archive to a website like virustotal.com. Anyway, It's always a good practice to keep backups of your saves in case of mod incompatibility .

There is a folder in the .zip archive. To install the mod, move the entire folder (not just its contents) into 'Mods' folder located under your RimWorld root isntallation folder.
So, for steam version of the game, the path would look like this: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\RimWorld\Mods
For any other distribution, firstly locate your rimworld installation path and then unpack the archive into the 'Mods' folder.
Then enable the mod in the game mods menu by double clicking on its name and restart the game
