Vanilla Plants Expanded - Succulents is an optional module for Vanilla Plants Expanded adding a variety of decorative plants, ideal to make your bases, houses, workstations and hospitals much prettier without having to maintain the flowerbeds. Succulents might provide only half of the beauty that flowers normally do, but their lifespan is three times as long, meaning your colonists won’t be forever busy with replacing flowers every few days.
Succulents are inspired by real life succulents I have around my house, but for the purpose of the gameplay they have been unified stat-wise and simplified.
I hope you will enjoy the mod, don’t hesitate to let me know what you think!
Vanilla Plants Expanded - Succulents content and mechanics can be seen described below:
[forms.gle]
Q: Do these plants spawn in the wild?
A: Yes, I have allowed them to spawn in small numbers in Arid Shrubland, all kinds of deserts and some of those even spawn in Tropical rainforest and Tropical swamp.
Q: Does it work alongside virtually any other flower mod out there?
A: You bet it does!
Q: How do I plant succulents?
A: We have added a new research project called Succulent sowing.
Q: Can I eat them?
A: You vile man. No.
Q: Can animals eat them?
A: Occasionally, if nothing else is available, yes.
Q: Can I suggest a feature?
A: Absolutely, leave a comment down below!
Q: Will you keep updating the mod with new types of plants?
A: We believe the amount of content in this mod is sufficient - it doesn’t add too much fluff. Instead, any additional content will come in the form of other extension modules!
Q: Is this mod save game compatible?
A: Yes, you can add it and remove it whenever you like.
Q: These plants are totally unrealistic!
A: We need to remember it is a video game, and for the sake of simplicity we decided to abandon realism in some instances. Sometimes realism is just boring, especially in such an unrealistic game. We decided that unique gameplay should be prioritised over realism.
Q: CE compatible?
A: Damn son. It’s a bunch of succulents, they don’t exactly fire assault rifles.
