Breed bees to generate all kinds of resources!

Features

- Beekeeping: find wild bees in all biomes, build beehouses to put them to work! A single beehouse won't do much, so prepare to build a few. Are you in an extreme biome? There are low-efficiency climatized beehouses available for you until you can get bees that modify allowed temperatures!
- Bee breeding: Mix two breeds of bees in a beehouse, and use a brood chamber to multiply them, and an hybridization chamber to get new species (more than 30)!
- Honey making: Centrifuge the combs produced by the bees to get honey and wax.
- Cooking and building: honey can be used as an ingredient in cooking, and wax can be used as a building material.
- Mead brewing: turn honey into mead to make your colonists happy (and drunk).
- Wax lighting: candles are a quaint and cheap way to light your base
- Resource gathering: many of the bees produce combs with more things than honey and wax. Will you find the Luciferium-producing bees?
- Research: discover new exciting bee combinations
- Pollination: plan your growing zones around your beehives and increase your crop production

Frequently asked questions

Q: I have my beehouses in an air conditioned room but it isn't working!
A: Bees need the appropiate average temperature in the whole map to work. Even if you have them inside to protect the beehouses, they need to get outside to eat flower nectar! There is an option (greenhouse bees) to disable this.

Q: Is this compatible with the Vanilla Factions Expanded - Vikings mod?
A: Absolutely. The two systems will work in parallel. You'll have the choice to make bee-breeding beehouses from this mod, or apiaries from VFE - Vikings. The latter's mead is renamed to honey-wine via XML patching to avoid confusion.

How do I download and install mods?

Is this mod safe to use?

The mods are repacked as is, without any additional software, malware, or bloatware added. To check for viruses, use a reliable antivirus or upload the archive to a website like virustotal.com. Anyway, It's always a good practice to keep backups of your saves in case of mod incompatibility .

There is a folder in the .zip archive. To install the mod, move the entire folder (not just its contents) into 'Mods' folder located under your RimWorld root isntallation folder.
So, for steam version of the game, the path would look like this: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\RimWorld\Mods
For any other distribution, firstly locate your rimworld installation path and then unpack the archive into the 'Mods' folder.
Then enable the mod in the game mods menu by double clicking on its name and restart the game
