Perspective: Buildings

Mod, 1.3, 1.4

This mod adds a gizmo to most buildings which allows the player to adjust its position. For example, you can nudge a building down a bit and tuck it behind a wall, giving it a better sense of perspective.

It also allows you to mirror non-rotatable buildings.

Limitations
This is purely a graphical mod and does not impact the gameplay. It can be added or removed at any time.

The main limitation is that associated objects, like meals on tables, do not respect the offset... At least not yet, I'm still looking into fixing that.

Compatibility
  • Not compatible with Graphic Chair Overhaul (at least for chairs) due to its custom drawing routine.

For other modders
Unless custom specified, buildings get a list of standard offsets that the adjuster button iterates through. If you're a modder and would like to add custom offsets to your building, check the wiki[github.com] for documentation.

Is this mod safe to use?

The mods are repacked as is, without any additional software, malware, or bloatware added. To check for viruses, use a reliable antivirus or upload the archive to a website like virustotal.com. Anyway, It's always a good practice to keep backups of your saves in case of mod incompatibility .

There is a folder in the .zip archive. To install the mod, move the entire folder (not just its contents) into 'Mods' folder located under your RimWorld root isntallation folder.
So, for steam version of the game, the path would look like this: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\RimWorld\Mods
For any other distribution, firstly locate your rimworld installation path and then unpack the archive into the 'Mods' folder.
Then enable the mod in the game mods menu by double clicking on its name and restart the game
